Hi everyone!! Congratulations! :) Finally we have all officially graduated and received our diplomas!
I would like to specially congratulate Rosie on attaining the Lee Kuan Yew Award and Fadzuli on attaining the Media Development Authority of Singapore IDM Award. Way to go!! =D
Oh and Angela, I saw the little reflection you gave in the Graduation booklet. =) I agree with you, my lecturers were all really friendly, helpful and caring too! ^.^
As for my Graduation, my classmates, friends and I took so many photos with the lecturers and with our parents. It was an unforgettable moment for me! :) I was elated to see all my friends again! Many of the guys were in NS already so they had their heads shaved, but it was good that they still came! hahax! :)
Well, here's wishing all graduands of Class 2007 the best in your future endeavours.

Fad's Graduation
Last week I graduated officially. It was a proud moment for me. I had always wondered when I was an instructor in army and my recruits were booking out for their respective graduation ceremony what it would be like. It was great! Especially so because my parents, sister and loved one were there to share the moment. I was extremely nervous though, not because of the ceremony but becaue there was an interview with CNA after the ceremony. I am deathly afraid of video cameras. I think I seem to feel that the "realtime" me is always bumbling and sprouting nonsense. I write my feelings down better than I say. Luckily, I the thorn and the other award winners, the roses, were pretty busy running around taking pictures with the guests of honours and I also had another newspaper interview with Berita Harian and when it finally came to the dreaded interview it was kept short to one question and a two line answer from me which was eventually cut down to one line when it aired. Anyway, I have done so many interviews it feels wierd having to repeat things. But I would like to reiterate to reinforce things that I have said during all my interviews that did not come out correctly or might not be clear.
I am eternally grateful for all I have learnt in NYP, the technical skills of my craft and the soft skills of people communication and project management. I am also grateful to NYP for the great chance of continuing my studies in CMU-ETC. It is pretty rare to be able to jump from diploma level to Masters. The deal is made even sweeter because of the reputation of CMU and their unique hands on approach to teaching game development. I feel that this chance is made possible by NYP creation of the tough but relevant DET course and the promotion of us to the industry and to CMU. Another thing that I feel I am blessed with through this journey is the people I have met through NYP, the friendships and relationships I have made. My lecturers who have taught me and given great advice. The administration staff who have promoted me to the media and have the unenviable task of trying to contact me to get me to come for phototaking and interviews. The industry people who I now play badminton and card games with and have given me much insight into the industry. It is has been a wonderful journey in NYP but it does not end here for I have to continue to work hard and succeed to warrant all the support I have given.
I better end here before it starts to sound like some MTV or Oscars award speech. Anyway here are the photos from the event.
Thanks to Henry my colleague at work for taking these photos.

I have Graduated from NYP ! :) (:
I attended both sessions 1 and 3...as Mr Gan Kim Yong, Minister of State for Education and Manpower, was there to present the Dintinguished Awards. I received the Lee Kuan Yew Award 2007 from him on 3rd July 07 opening ceremony for NYP Graduation. =) I also received the NCS Pte. Ltd. Gold Medal on my own DIT cum DBI Graduation Ceremony on 4th July 07. See the photo here... me with my Lee Kuan Yew Award. I sort of received the same set of items for my Gold Medal. Yup... =) HeeX...
I'm also very honoured to be representing all of my fellow friends of Class 2007 to deliver the Valedictorian speech towards the end of the graduation ceremony. It was a great experience being up there on the stage. I was enjoying the speech presentation, and sort of looking out for people I know among the audience. Hahaha ~ Hundreds of people, but good view from the stage. Haha ~
And after both graduation ceremonies on each of the two days, my Mum & I got to interact with the VIPs, my Sch of IT Director and Deputy Directors, Managers, and several lecturers during the reception periods. Not forgetting some interviews that I had to attend during the process... I thought it was a good chit-chat with all of them. =) Getting to know each other better...and we also took lots of photos together...almost never-ending...nonstop, about 75% of the time I was at the TFA Reception area. Hahaha ~
Finally, I would like to thank those who have come to NYP to support us during our respective graduation ceremonies...and yes, congratulations to all fellow graduates who have graduated from NYP. We have come this far, and I wish all of us success in our future endeavours and pursuits. And hey....please support the SCS Great Singapore Duck Race. Hehe, see you all at the Duck Race booth outside NYP Lounge (Reception Area during graduation ceremony week). Hehe... =P

some of you might have heard of them before. . .
do check out www.myspace.com/mywrites
its seriously some good stuff; music that makes me h a p p y
(zul, i'm not being sarcastic here)
Its amazing how they went from jamming during lunch breaks to playing gigs at notable places. and then, appearing in magazines here and there. wowza, I'm proud to be their friend even. haha
here's Shaun, Zul and the rest of the band:

p.s I wasn't paid to do the promotion, I swear.
I was lucky enough to be even included in a school photoshoot, so I took the chance to snap some shots of the set. There's the photographer, crew, hair/make-up artist and 'models'.
I have to admit that its fun having to 'pose' around while my classmates were busy rushing deadlines. HAHAA. But at the end of the day, I developed some spasm on my cheeks from over-smiling.

and to end it off,
zul, i am says:

counting down
1:39am. damn, its already tuesday. and that brings me closer to my graduation.
Graduation - the day the word "ALUMNI" gets stamped all over my forehead in bold.
6th july; happens to be my sis' sweet 16th too.
its gonna be a mad scramble for me from one place to another this Friday.
to think I even have an itinerary planned.
9am - breakfast @ school
10 am - grad ceremony
12 pm - lunch
2 pm - back to work
6 pm - sis' bday party
__ pm - grad after party (if any)
ARGH, the thought of having to go back to work while a bunch of my friends celebrate and catch up over lunch. hahah. im one deprived soon-to-be alumni.
Moving onto peachier stuff, I shall give a sneak peek of some behind-the-scenes in our studio production - NYPTV
this is the set that we took days and sleepless nights to create.
DID YOU KNOW? One of our hosts for our production - Denise Watt has actually made a name for herself as a Deal or No Deal model. coolio.
and here's a peek at the panel where the madness takes place during recording.
its where the Studio Director, Visual Mixer, Audio Mixer, Lightings etc people are stationed.
that's me. haha, drawing up a lil something for the set. Studio M is where we let our creative juices and some paint flow. haha
and here's another set of another production. we tried to create a lounge, complete with candles and our very own barcounter.
it was definitely challenging bcause we had to make do with zilch. ZERO BUDGET. and our timeline was only a week.
most of the props were mostly brought from home, or found abandoned on set.
alright, i will leave it at that for now.

SCS Great Spore Duck Race Booth on Graduation Week
Hi all, just to let you know... in relation to the SCS Great Singapore Duck Race event, we will be setting up a booth along NYP lounge during Graduation Week from 3rd - 6th July 07. While having fun and a catch-up with our fellow friends and lecturers, I hope that you all will visit our booth and support us with adopting a duck and collecting some cute little duckies home for souvenirs. You also can obtain a token of appreciation from us if you adopt a duck from us. :) You can actually get to choose which token you would like to have...ranging from flash and mobile games to a variety of instant gifts you can get if you buy a ticket.
So...bring your friends along with you... And see you all at the booth on Graduation Week. (",)
